I share; YOU share!

Hey there! Hope your weekend is going well! I have to take a few minutes to share with you a video, a App, and a biblical/prayer perspective that may change your life, or a loved one's live for the better of health.

You may remember a 10 Day Juice fast that I did a while back. You can click here to re-visit or click on Cleanse under the labels section on the right side of the blog.

Juice fasting is a wonderful and amazing way to improve your health. It is the God given "Life" foods that allow your body to do what God has made it do. If you are facing any aches and pains, illness, weight gain, or other harmful deceases, or you just want a good detox, I would highy recommend using one of the Jason Vale Apps. HOWEVER, for me it's vital to also include the Lord and drawing on His strength through it. It's amazing how a Juice fast can also be a spiritual renewal and awakening as well. What I mean by that is that it's just a perfect time to be committed to prayer and praise. It is by His strength and joy that there is freedom even from the daily routine of "eating." You can read more about how I choose a prayer focus during my juice fast HERE.

With that said...There is link to a VIDEO available only this WEEKEND so please check it out. I share with you; so YOU can share with others!  All you have to do is put in your email an your country. Simple! Worth it!

Here are a few of Jason Vale Apps that I recommend as well as his 28 day fast. But keep reading for some reason why I recommend using a plan like these...

I have recently purchased the Jason Vale App (I bought the 28 day one) for a juice fast, and I want to share a few things I love about it so far.

1. Ya'll know that I did a Juice fast a while back and the difference I feel is unreal. While I may be mentally more prepared for this one because I have been through it once and know what to expect, I can see the benefit in following a specific studies and intentional plan for each juice you consume . This time I feel more satisfied, I know that the combination of the ingredients have a specific health benefit and are balanced to prevent blood sugar spikes/drops.

2. The shopping list, videos, and tips are all well thought out and planned in order to make the Juicing successful and easier then doing it on your own.

3. It's fun to experiment with new juice recipes and combinations

4. I have been able to juice certain foods, like ginger, because of the combinations and how well it is hidden. I could not do that before; I hated ginger, but now I actually know that a little goes a long way and it can be masked with other yummy veggies and fruits.

This video and these apps are really worth watching and worth your health. Start small. Do a 5 day fast, then do the 7 day a little later, and then 10, and then maybe try a 28 day.

However,  remember that you should consult your doctor before with your plan and explain the why behind it. Have them monitor your levels and numbers, and if your on any medication see if after the fast it doesn't improve your levels and numbers and be able to ween yourself off the meds and onto LIVE food that will bring health to your body!

In closing let me say that I don't live perfectly or eat perfectly all the time. I am a work in progress, striving to put more "LIVE" food into my body on a daily basis, praying for the ability to make wiser choices, and daily striving to be unchained to food or anything else for that matter.

For me it's about living FREE! That is my aim, my goal, my prayer! I pray the same for you!

P2X: Extra and Prize

Can you believe it's been 2 WEEKS! WOW!

A HUGE congrats to all of you who joined P2X! I am proud of you all, and I hope you have felt the benefits of all the added live food! For those who did the challenge, but did not participate in the comments and community I would love to hear how it was for you too.

Here is a thought from a participant of P2X.

Crystal says:
I was so excited to start the challenge, and even more so when my husband decided to join me! Over the past 2 weeks I have had more energy, have been less bloated, felt more hydrated, and overall felt better about what I am putting in my body.

Favorite Dinner Recipe during the challenge:
Veggie Lettuce Wraps
Slice Baby Portobello, Mushrooms, Celery, Onions, Carrots, Zucchini, Squash, and Cilantro

Put in a pan to sauté with 2-3 tbsp of olive oil and sprinkle of Cavendar's Greek Seasoning. Sauté until all veggies are soft and spoon into iceberg lettuce cups or form a taco. Enjoy!

Crystal's Plan:
We are planning to continue making one smoothie or juice each day.

I just love that Chrystal and her hubby are going to continue adding in extra "plant" food to their daily routine! That is what it is all about! Learning, adapting, and continuing on a path to health!

This was Unchained Health's first P2X challenge, and I am so very proud of all of you who participated!  Continue checking back for more challenges to come!

And as I promised an opportunity for a prize and e"X"tra challenge. The "Extra" challenge will only go for 1 more week. It is an opportunity to continue the P2X challenge for a 3rd week. However, even if you don't continue the challenge you are still eligible for the prize.

Here is how...

Encourage a friend to join in for this 1 week challenge and you and your friend follow these three easy steps below. Promise it's as easy as 1,2, 3

T25: Beta Week 3-5

It is hard for me to believe that I have completed both the Alpha and Beta round of T25. These workouts have been a great, quick, and efficient form of exercise for me. I would highly recommend them. They are great for a busy schedule with little time to fit in a workout.

If your target is weight loss or toning, and you are not currently working out this will be a great solution for you. However, if your target is toning and continued fitness I would recommend some weightlifting, walking or running, or cardio of choice twice a week in addition to the T25.

Overall, I was extremely happy with these work out will definitely be incorporating them into my routine.

Whatever you do, be blessed and thankful you can!

Blueberry Boba Smoothie

This recipe is actually inspired by my daughter who is five. She loves the Boba tea when we go to many of our favorite Asian restaurants in the area, so she came up with the amazing idea for a Boba Smoothie!
One day while I was making her and her siblings a smoothie she asked if she could add some frozen blueberries to her smoothie and use a big straw like we do with the Boba at the restaurant. I immediately thought that was a great idea, but realized it was brilliant after I tasted it! Here is the recipe we used. You must try this for yourself!

BLUEBERRY BOBA SMOOTHIE:
1-2 cup Frozen Blueberries
1 Banana
4-5 handfuls spinach
1 Small cucumber
3-4 Strawberries
1 orange
2 tbls flax seed mill
1 cup Almond milk
2 heeping spoonfuls frozen blueberries

Mix the first 8 ingredients together in a blender. Add the two spoonfuls of frozen blueberries on top, grab a large straw and enjoy this smoothie with a Boba like texture!

It's amazing; go try it! :)

P2X: Finish in sight!

GOOD MORING ALL! Happy Monday! I want to encourage all of you to keep up the great work! The finish is now in sight! Only a few days left, and it's Monday so let's start off strong in order to finish strong! Focus of the Week:

P2X: Week 2

GOOD MORING ALL! You have made it to your 2nd week of the P2X challenge! WAY TO GO!
You are in it and should be feeling the great benefits of the changes! The difference you are making is greatly improving  your body, mind, and soul! I am proud of you all!

Focus of the Week:
Keep going and don't give up!

Remember…
Dust yourself off and try again!
It's about being UNCHAINED!

Tip of the Day:
Because God designed us to obtain energy and strength from food, we have to eat to function! So we must learn to Eat to LIVE, not live to Eat. It's important to make sure you are getting enough to live and function on. DON'T starve yourself. Anytime your hungry between breakfast and dinner grab a smoothie or fresh juice and or snack on plant based foods. Too many times when we challenge ourselves with food we deprive ourselves of nutrients. That is not the case for this challenge. P2X is about challenging ourselves to maximize our plant intake and eliminate the foods that don't help our bodies function at top performance. Top Performance comes from proper nutrition and focus which you will obtain as you commit to drinking/eating those life giving plant foods each time your hungry.

Recipe of the Day:

The Green Machine Smoothie
* 4 large handfuls of spinach
* 1 cucumber
* 2 oranges
* 1/4 banana
*1 tablespoon of V-C powder
*Hemp Seeds (sprinkled ontop)
You may here me say….Hemp and Chia seeds are to smoothies what sprinkles are to ice-cream.
And I mean that! They really are delicious and add an amazing texture to your smoothie or juice.

Start off strong and know that every meal is a victory toward health and freedom! It's not bondage, it's not hard, it's fun, life giving, and freeing! I love a quote from a health documentary that said, "It's not that I can't have that processed food, I can, it's that I don't WANT it!"  Isn't that so freeing?!

Remember that there are some recipes under the "Labels" tab on the right side of the blog. Also,  comment below and share your day or recipe with us. Also, if you want to be included in email updates you must "FOLLOW" the blog by clicking on the word  "Follow" on the right side of the blog.

Have a blessed day! Can't wait to hear how your first day was! Lovs!

P2X: Feature Friend 2

GOOD MORING ALL! It is day 7! Can you believe it! One week down and only one more to go! Way to go! How have your last two days been? I am sure you are feeling some amazing results by now!

When we started I mentioned wanting to highlight a participant of P2X. You will be so inspired to meet Alicia and here from her. I have asked her a series of questions that she answers with wisdom. She also shares a recipe that you have to check out and try! Hope you enjoy this read and please email me if you would be interested in being featured during P2X.

Meet Alicia.
Alicia has adopted a healthy life style for the past year and has lost a total of 20 lbs. When asked what the biggest differences she has found in healthy eating she says, "Overall I felt better and had more energy. Coffee became more of a treat instead of a need. My self control in other areas of life increased as well. I learned how to meal prep and spent a lot of time coming up with creative recipes. But I just moved better-

I am so excited for this challenge because I usually only do one smoothie a day... or every other day... because I can get busy or lazy. The additional meal as a smoothie will drastically up my vegetable intake and I'm looking forward to seeing an increase in fiber and minerals in general! My cells are ready to be nourished!

The more plant-based food I eat, the faster I run. I don't get bloated and nauseas (like when I eat processed foods). I also find that my skin clears up and my mood is more consistent and stable

Even though many people shy away from cheese, one of my favorite snacks is one of the mini baybel cheeses with matsa. Random, I know.
One of my favorite healthy desserts in hot milk, unsweatened cocoa and a few drops of stevia. Chocolate milk. no sugar calories. Amazing.  You can also do the same thing and add coffee for a little extra kick!
I'm not sure what my favorite recipe is- but I wanted to incorporate ginger into my diet so I mixed up this recipe and loved it!

*1/3 of a cucumber
*1 apple
* 1 cup of OJ
*1 tbs of ginger
*As much spinach as you can fit
*1 cup of greek yogurt

One thing I would share is that life is so beautiful, precious and short. If eating healthy adds quality years that can be shared with loved ones- why not!? Plus any extra energy, confidence, and self control can't be a bad thing :)

P2X: Featured Friend

Hey all! Way to hang in there for the 6th day of P2X. I know your feeling the difference now! I have a little something to keep you motivated from a sweet friend and challenge participant. Here is Dana…

Hello, my name is Dana.  I’m married to my amazing husband of 14 years and we have two awesome boys ages 10 and 9.  I love the Lord and enjoy singing praise and worship music unto Him. I work full-time in corporate recruiting.  I also enjoy watching local sports teams with my family.

I’m super excited about the P2X Challenge!  It is exactly what I have been praying for to help get me motivated.  With this challenge I hope to jumpstart my weight loss goals, gain more energy, and make healthy greens a staple on my plate.  So far, I already feel more energetic and lighter on my feet! My favorite go to healthy snack is a carrot, apple, ginger juice.

Favorite Snack:
One of my favorite simple desserts is either strawberry or raspberry sorbet made with ice, frozen fruit, and coconut water (or with a little almond milk added for a creamier taste).

Favorite favorite plant-based recipes:
Sweet Potato & Carrot Fries
Ingredients
2 medium Sweet Potatoes
2 large Carrots
2 tbsp Olive or Coconut Oil
1 tsp. ground Cumin
1/4 tsp. Pepper
1/2 tsp. Sea Salt

Directions
Preheat oven to 425 degrees.
Peel the sweet potatoes and carrots.
Cut the potatoes in half lengthwise, and slice each halve into 4 equal wedges.
For the carrots, cut in half crosswise into two chunks. Slice each chunk lengthwise into 2 pieces, and cut each piece into 2 or 3 wedges, making them roughly the same size as the potatoes.
Put the potato and carrot wedges into a bowl and toss with the oil, cumin, pepper and salt.
Arrange on baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
Bake for 30 minutes or until the flesh is tender and the outside is lightly browned and the edges slightly crisp.

(Instead of ketchup, I dip my fries in a little balsamic vinegar.  Very tasty!)

Motivational tips:  I want to share with all of you in the challenge are to begin by choosing 2 or 3 Juice or Smoothie recipes that you think you might like, keep it simple, and prepare your lunches and snacks the night before if you have to go to work each day.  Preparation is key!

Wow! What great tips and delicious recipes from Dana! Thanks so much girl! You are awesome and inspiring! Keep up the great work!

P2X Week 1: Eat to LIVE…Don't live to EAT

GOOD MORING ALL! SO glad to have you all here and joining in for the P2X challenge!
It's Week 1, Day 1 and you are headed for 2 weeks of cleansing and super charging your health!
Way to make a different for your body, mind, and soul! I am proud of you, and I feel blessed to do this with you!

Focus of the Week:
When you start to feel yourself reaching or desiring something that is not apart of our challenge, take a moment to stop and pray for yourself and another member of this challenge. Pray for strength, satisfaction, self-control, a renewed mind toward food, and freedom! It is God's desire that we are nourished and free! Food should not enslave us, but nourish and support us.

We want to EAT to LIVE
NOT live to eat.
