Pear Vinaigrette Salad

I have been wanting to post this for a while and finally getting a chance!

We typically try to eat some what healthy, and many of our friends would agree we try to make "healthier" choices.  However we still have much room to grow and improve. Especially after watching  all the recent documentaries on Net Flix. If you haven't seen them you must! They are eye opening! I will include a list below for you when you have time! Be ready to be informed!
 It is crazy how much garbage is being put into many of our foods! Criminal really!

So, Tu and I have agreed to try to lower the amount of processed foods and eating out. We have been juicing for a while and trying to add more plant based food to our diet. We have to be realistic too! We can't change everything all at once. Well we can, but we are choosing to ease our family into this change. Especially the kids! I will be sharing some of the recipes we will try, but mostly the ones we enjoy. This was a recent salad we had.

Salads are one of my favorites. They do take a little work and prep, but they are worth it!
Here is our Pear Vinaigrette Salad
* Spinach and Kale Mix
* Diced Pears
* Diced Heirloom tomatoes
* Sprinkle of Feta Cheese
* Sprinkle of soft cheese of your choice
* Top with Balsamic Vinegar and olive oil

So delicious and yummy!

And the list of Documentaries on Net Flix are...
*Fat Sick and Nearly Dead (my favorite)
* Forks over Knives
* Hungry for Change
*The Engine 2 Diet

There are a few others, but I have not watched them yet. Just go to the Documentaries on food... so many great resources!

We would love your prayer as we strive to care for the bodies that God has given to us.

Some of you may remember three years ago when I posted a button on my blog about praying for Daisy, this precious little life and her family. I am sure they could use your prayers now in their time of loss too! Here is a link to the blog about Daisy and an awesome message from her dad.

I am so humbled and challenged by their faith! I am so thankful to the Lord for His Grace and yet crying over the hurt, loss, and pain that this brings.

Tu and I sat in the Carpentria Church the weekend Pastor Brit spoke about their difficult news that their daughter was diagnosed with cancer. It was one of the most difficult and yet powerful messages I have ever sat through. You can listen to it here. The Lord used that message in our lives and we have since talked about and shared it with many others! What a perspective!

Every day is a gift! Wow! I need to live, share, and be all about JESUS! He is good! He is worthy! Even when life is hard and difficult He is still worthy to receive our praise! WOW! Lord forgive my focus, my attitude, and my lack of faith! Help me to live each day for you, honoring you by using the gift you have given me (life) for you!

Thank you Jesus! Be with this sweet family! Comfort and Bless them I pray!

Kids Healthy Lunch

5 Healthy Kids Lunches
While I know some of these options are not "completely clean" I also know that these meals are a very good start to healthier lunch options for kids.
Sliced Apples, Carrots, Cheese, Avocado, Turkey slice

 Plain yogurt with blueberries, clementine, 1/2 bagel

 Pita bread with Raw Almond Butter and Honey, Strawberries & Blueberries, Carrots & Swiss (soft) cheese.
 Create their own pizza. Pita Bread with sauce (from spaghetti the night before) and cheese.

Just a few ideas to pass along! Blessings!
